Speakeasy Night at the Wrigley Mansion

On Saturday, February 25, Southwest Shakespeare Company will host its annual fundraiser, this year at the Wrigley Mansion, with a "Speakeasy" theme.  It will be a rip-roaring fun, glamorous night with jazz singer and recording artist Dennis Rowland and his jazz trio as the featured entertainment. There will be a stellar array of food, including make-your-own-pasta stations, and a cash bar at this signature event presented by the state's classical theatre company.

Producing Artistic Director Jared Sakren said "We wanted to create an evening that was more like a party, with great food, wine, entertainment, and the best live and silent auctions of any event during the year." Looking at the list of live auction items from past fundraisers seems to support Sakren's assertion. SSC has auctioned off Broadway packages that have included house seats to the top shows---shows such as Spiderman, The Lion King, Wicked, The Producers, Boeing Boeing, God of Carnage---as well as backstage visits or dinner out with Tony winners such as Patti LuPone, Angela Lansbury, Marian Seldes, Boyd Gaines, and others such as Christine Baranski, Bradley Whitford, Christopher Noth, and Kathy Fitzgerald.  Other auction items have included Hollywood trips that offered lunch with Annette Bening, seats at the star-studded "Simply Shakespeare" hosted by Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, VIP and backstage treatment at "Jimmy Kimmel Live", and tickets to top LA theatre events. Other items have included a Hawaii trip with lunch with the cast of "Lost", beach house vacations, African safaris, walk-on roles in the SSC season, skybox tickets to top sporting events, and much, much more. 

"Everyone who has seen what we have at our live and silent auctions comes away impressed.  They are hard to beat," said Board President Aleta Gunn.  The evening is hosted by former Valley actor and veteran of "Law and Order," Bob Sorenson. 

Tickets are to $125 per person and Speakeasy attire is welcome. Our evening begins at 6pm and there will be valet parking available. The Wrigley Mansion is located at 2501 E.
