Support the Arts

We Need Your Support!Bob Sorenson in Midsummer Night's Dream

Southwest Shakespeare Company is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. We appreciate every dollar given and we put every dollar to good use. Ticket revenue covers less than 50% of the cost of mounting a production. Students state-wide pay $7 to see a matinee performance which may cost up to $28 per student to produce. We look to the generosity of community members, businesses, foundations, and government agencies to make up these shortfalls.

Southwest Shakespeare Company’s Board of Directors and Staff are eager to speak with you in regards to ways you can help SSC efforts to keep the arts alive and well in our community. We are a SMALL and GROWING company. We are FLEXIBLE. We want to work WITH YOU.

Please contact us about ways in which you may contribute to SSC and support the arts in Arizona. Call 602-535-1202 or email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

A Season of Angels

Southwest Shakespeare Company is looking for Angels. No, not exactly the kind with a halo and wings, but Angels nonetheless. Angels are often described as kind, manifesting goodness and selflessness. The special kind of Angels we are seeking are " Theatre Angels". I am writing to you at the end of this busy year to ask for your help.  These are difficult economic times, and arts organizations across the country are struggling to maintain their programs. Southwest Shakespeare Company is no different. We need you to make an impact right now.

We have, to date, brought over 110,000 students to our theatres to see and experience Shakespeare as it was meant to be seen and heard, on stage.  Our second-ever touring production, Macbeth, will be heading out to venues across the state as we bring Shakespeare to those who cannot afford to come to us. This is a lot to produce all in the space of a couple of months.  In order to move forward we depend upon the generous support of you, our Theatre Angels. Any amount of donation will make a difference in our educational programs and onstage productions, but as Shakespeare said,

"That angel of the world -- doth make distinction
Of place 'tween high and low."

If you make a donation, Southwest Shakespeare Company would be able to move forward with these productions and educational programs, being able to pay our actors and designers, and rent our spaces.  Please use this direct secure link to make your donation. We very much need your help!

Thank you,
Jared Sakren
Producing Artistic Director

If you are interested in joining our roster of volunteers or in receiving more information about volunteering, please complete our
Volunteer Application and we’ll get in touch with you as soon as possible.

We also have working board committees and welcome community members to all of them. Read more about them and let us know if you would like to get involved by marking the appropriate committee box on the
